Giovanni Arcadipane

Giovanni was born some time after 1870, most likely in Favara, in the province of Girgenti, Sicily, Italy, as this was where his brother Salvatore Jr. was born.  During the reign of Mussoulini, the province of Girgenti was renamed to Agrigenti, which is its current name. It is believed that he married the sister of Giovanina Sciarrotta (Giovanina was married to his brother Salvatore Jr - the two brothers were married to two sisters).

 

Giovanni became a miner and for some time, relocated his family to Ouro Preto (the state of Minas Gerais), Brazil to work the gold mines there.
